Torres Martinez Health Clinic Opens

The Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians celebrated the grand opening of its new Torres Martinez Health Clinic on July 9, 2021. Emceed by Torres Martinez Tribal Vice Chairman Joseph Mireles, the celebration featured a blessing, speeches, bird singing, and a tour of the clinic

The Torres Martinez Desert Cahuilla Indians received a $1 million grant from SMBMI to support the construction of the clinic, which will integrate primary and behavioral health care as well as provide dental, optometry, pharmacy, and WIC services. Riverside San Bernardino County Indian Health will oversee the clinic.

Riverside San Bernardino Indian Health provides culturally sensitive healthcare and promotes wellness. It operates seven clinics and one outreach office to a consortium of tribal governments. San Manuel has supported the organization since 2005 for various programs as well as clinic renovations and new construction projects.
