The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians held its annual Summer of Yawa’ from June 30 through July 31. During this time, San Manuel team members helped raised funds for the Barcid Foundation and Children’s Fund, two organizations that strongly align with all four of the Tribe’s pillars, as well as its vision to bring Indigenous voices to the forefront. The Tribe matched all donations, dollar-for-dollar, bringing this year’s total funds raise to $45,010.
The Barcid Foundation strives to increase Native American representation in the film and television industry by providing arts, multimedia and technology-based educational opportunities for Indigenous communities. Children’s Fund works to fund and equip organizations that serve children experiencing poverty, abuse and neglect.
