SMBMI Receives Community Champion Award

San Manuel Cares

On June 27, Cedar House Life Change Center presented the Community Champion Award to the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians at its inaugural Inland Empire Humanitarian Awards for its partnership and support for the Bloomington-based nonprofit since 2017. Cedar House empowers individuals through evidence-based treatments, empathy and compassion to find wholeness in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction.

In 2022, SMBMI granted Cedar House $55,000 for their outreach to 600 organization graduates for after-care programming. Part of the grant funding went toward an after-care coordinator and the CaredFor app, which the organization uses to engage with its graduates. These services help individuals transition from the program and become productive members of society, a shared vision between Cedar House and the Tribe’s charitable giving pillars.
