2026 Forging Hope Award Recipient: University of Nevada, Las Vegas

Forging Hope UNLV

This year, several nonprofits in California and Nevada supporting veterans, public educators, at-risk youth and more were recognized at the Tribe’s Forging Hope Awards, held in April and May, including the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ (UNLV) Indian Nations Gaming & Governance Program, William S. Boyd School of Law and the Tribal Education Initiative.

UNLV was honored for its programs, which help prepare Native students to become future leaders in the industry while educating them about the legal, political, cultural and economic foundations of tribal nations and their enterprises. The Indian Nations Gaming & Governance Program provides cutting-edge research and training on gaming, regulation, and governance for Indian nations in the context of tribal gaming.

The William S. Boyd School of Law is dedicated to academic excellence and practical training—committed to helping Indian nations use gaming to build a stronger future. Housed within the Harrah College of Hospitality, the Tribal Education Initiative leverages the college’s extensive expertise in gaming and hospitality to create exceptional learning opportunities for students interested in tribal gaming and hospitality careers.
